2009 TexTESOL IV Teacher of the Year

Tex TESOL IV 2009 Regional Conference Keynote Speaker

The plenary speaker for the 2009 conference will be Gretchen Bernabei, the author of the Good Writer's Guide.  Her strategies are designed to help even the most reluctant writers to blossom into self-confident writers with their own voices.

GRETCHEN BERNABEI taught grades 6-12 in San Antonio public schools for more than 20 years and now conducts writing workshops for enthusiastic teacher audiences across the country. Her popular new book, Reviving the Essay, is going into its fourth printing. She co-authored, with Barry Lane, Why We Must Run with Scissors and recently helped create The Good Writer’s Kit for National Geographic School Publishing.   She lives and writes in San Antonio, Texas.

Tex TESOL IV Regional Conference on October 24, 2009

This year’s regional conference will be held on October 24, 2009 from 8:30 - 4:30 in the University of Houston Hilton Hotel.  Plan to attend and register on line now.

The plenary speaker, Gretchen Bernabei, will offer both academic and concrete ideas that will help all teachers, no matter the grade level or subject area.

Featured speakers and break-out sessions will be there to meet the needs of all TexTESOL educators in elementary, middle school, high school, higher education, and adult education.  We would also love to hear your ideas as well.
